Carlos Alcaraz took a page out of Rafael Nadal's book in humility, wanting to remain humble in spite of tremendous success.

Carlos Alcaraz is not your ordinary tennis player neither is he your ordinary great tennis player. What he's been showing early in his career is the makeup of legendary players and after taking down one such in Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon recently, Alcaraz is coasting to a similar status.

The road is long but the Spaniard is keen to remain humble through the process not seeing himself as anything special. He laughed off being called 'the chosen' one in recent history and explained to La Vanguardia that he insists on keeping things as natural as possible.

When I have days off I propose to my friends go to the supermarket and buy some rice and hamburgers to make at home. The others stand up and tell me to stay, but I insist: ‘Hey I’m going with you guys, I want things to be natural.

In the same interview, Alcaraz admitted to being very deliberate with his actions in order to remain humble. He still feels quite embarrassed when people carry his bags or things because he can do it himself. It's very on-brand for someone like Rafael Nadal, who has been called a humble player many times. Alcaraz looked up to him as a kid, so this is hardly a surprise.

I’m having the opportunity to travel from time to time on private planes, on flights with my people. But sometimes I feel embarrassed to put myself in those situations where they carry my suitcase, when I can carry it myself.
Or those players that I see that the coach carries their racquet bag…. Until recently, I myself took the racqets to the stringer and picked them up. Those details make a person humble, down to earth.
