WTA player Elina Svitolina and former football player Andriy Shevchenko were named as ambassadors for the UNITED24 platform.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, established UNITED24 as a platform to collect charity donations in support of Ukraine. The country has been in a war conflict with Russia since being invaded.

Svitolina was named the ambassador, as she's one of the most successful Ukrainian athletes. As a former WTA World No. 3 player, the Ukrainian tries to speak about the conflict when she gets a chance to raise awareness.

Now, after being appointed as an ambassador, Svitolina was delighted to become part of the UNITED24 project.

“Every time I won on the court, I was happy to bring victory to my country. I have always been a proud Ukrainian. Today, when my country is facing a horrific enemy, I will not stand aside."
"I will do my best to help Ukraine win its most important fight. I am honored to become part of UNITED24 and join efforts with the President of Ukraine."

She admitted that she was on a call with her country's president, learning the good news that she would be one of the ambassadors for this new platform.

"Yesterday I had a zoom call with President Zelenskyy. Great news: I’m now officially the Ambassador for the United24 fundraising platform. I’ve always been a proud Ukrainian, bringing victories in the name of my Homeland."
"Today, when it is facing this vile, cruel and merciless enemy, I will not stand aside as well. I will do everything in my power to help my country win its most important battle. This time – outside the tennis court. I’m honored to become part of the initiative that gives people hope, helps them survive and fight back."

Svitolina highlighted the need for medical supplies for the Ukrainian doctors. She also asked her fans to help Ukraine in these challenging times.

"Ukrainian doctors and paramedics, who risk their lives rushing into the warzones to save lives, need medical supplies and modern equipment. They have my utmost respect and support for this daily sacrifice, so this is exactly where I am going to focus my activity."
"Together with my colleague and fellow Ukrainian, Andriy Shevchenko joined the platform earlier, we will do our best to unite the world community around supporting the Medical Aid direction. You can do this too. Please support my country like you supported me all this time."
