"She does not miss" - Andreescu in disbelief after Swiatek loss

Bianca Andreescu failed to defeat Iga Swiatek in their second-ever match and the Polish player will now face Emma Raducanu in the Indian Wells 4th round.

It was an interesting matchup between Andreescu and Swiatek, somewhat similar to their Rome clash last year as it was rather competitive. It's really hard to blow Andreescu off the court because she competes so hard. This was no exception but she didn't play well enough to win the match.

"I know that my game was definitely going to level up to hers. I knew she was going to play well but I didn't know she was going to play that well, but that's what you have to expect from the World No.1."

Andreescu on playing Swiatek

Andreescu tried her best but her best on that day was simply not enough and she struck a very defeatist tone following the match as she lamented the loss. In Andreescu's words, the Polish player simply doesn't miss and if you don't miss, you're doing a lot of things right.

"She literally does not miss. You could hit any shot in the world and she literally will not list. She'll find a way to get to it, she'll put it where she exactly wants it."

On the Polish side of the proceedings, Swiatek was happy with the effort and the result. She expected a proper battle and was glad to have navigated it as well as you could hope for. Especially in the second set which went to a tiebreak.

"It was a really tight match, and I'm really happy that I actually played such a tight match, because now I see how I can handle those situations after couple of matches that were kind of one way. I think we both played well. I'm happy that in those important moments, I was the one that was more solid."
