Elena Rybakina is only one win away from completing the Sunshine Double after her win over Jessica Pegula in the Miami Open semi-final.

The Kazakh played another fabulous match to beat the American in the semi-final securing another final this year. It's her 3rd big final this year following the Australian Open and Indian Wells and she is hoping to win this one and improve to 2-1.

The chance to complete the Sunshine Double looks increasingly likely, especially with the way she's playing but this one was tricky for her. She praised Pegula after the match noting the difficulty of playing against her.

Jessica, she played really well some moments. It's not easy to play against her because she keeps the ball really low, and it's difficult to redirect the ball. I was playing today better when I was down. Then I think that I was doing everything correct. It was just not enough maybe energy. Maybe I was getting a bit mad when I was down so I was trying to push myself.

Rybakina on the match

Rybakina was able to finish off the match in two sets because she wasn't too keen about playing a 3rd set. She admitted after the match that she risked quite a bit more in the conclusion of the second set and it worked out for her.

I think that I started a bit more aggressive because also, I knew that if it's going to go to the third set, it's going to be much more difficult. So I maybe risked a bit more even in the end of the second set.

The final will see her battle against either Cirstea or Kvitova. That match will be played on Friday and Rybakina underlined that it's going to be a hard match whoever she plays.

Against Petra I played in the beginning of the year, and she played really well, but it was much faster courts there. I think it's gonna be different if I play against her again, but for sure it's a lot physically, because here the courts are quite slow, especially after rain. When it's that humid, it's not easy. Both matches, no matter who I play, is going to be very tough. Hopefully I can make one last push and it's gonna go my way.
