Emma Raducanu has received a second wild card for the grass-court season as she eyes a productive summer on the lawns.
Earlier this week, the 21-year-old was granted a wild card into her first tournament on grass in two years in Nottingham. The event is part of the 250-level and is set to welcome four of the world's Top 30 women.
It hasn't taken long for Eastbourne International to follow suit by giving Raducanu a main draw wild card. This is a more prestigious event than the Nottingham Open because it is classified as a 500-level tournament.
Additionally, the Eastbourne International will be played in the final week before Wimbledon where she is expected to receive another wild card. The former US Open champion has endured a disjointed season and hasn't hit her stride.
The appointment of her childhood mentor, Nick Cavaday, has not had an instant impact in terms of results. Raducanu spoke highly of him when they reunited because he knew her better than all her previous coaches.
But apart from a third-round run in Indian Wells and a quarterfinal finish in Stuttgart, Raducanu has a modest return in other tour-level tournaments.
She is 9-7 with half of the season in the books. Raducanu hasn't built on her ranking significantly enough to enter the French Open main draw, and she is currently outside the Top 200.
The Briton withdrew from the Roland Garros qualifying tournament last week and returned to the UK to begin her grass-court preparations in London. She recently shared a video of her first practice session on the lawns and will play her first tournament in Nottingham on June 10th.
Her schedule immediately after that is looking very clear. Raducanu will play in Eastbourne and potentially Wimbledon. Then, a big summer in North America awaits, with the British tennis sensation anticipating returning to the scene of her greatest triumph in New York.
