Petra Kvitova is a married woman as the legendary Czech player tied the knot with long-time boyfriend, Jiri Vanek.
Petra Kvitova has had a tremendously successful tennis career, one that is still going on. She's still capable of producing some amazing efforts as her exploits this year proved. She surprisingly won the Miami Open by beating Elena Rybakina in the final and recently added another trophy in Berlin at the WTA 500 event.
It's been a nice year overall for the Czech, who has now tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend and coach, Jiri Vanek. The couple got married in her native Czech Republic, in Prague, in a private ceremony. There isn't much information about the ceremony other than Kvitova posting a photo of the couple on social media by adding yesterday's (22.7.) date.
According to reports the ceremony was held in a luxury resort just outside of Prague and attended by only those closest to the couple. One of those attending was Barbara Strycova who is a long-time friend of Kvitova and colleague as well.
Strycova herself just had a highlight by winning the Wimbledon doubles trophy recently. Kvitova teased the wedding a few times in interviews but always stopped before sharing a date. She didn't want to say when the wedding would take place, only admitting cheekily that it would be this year.
Not much will change for the Czech player as she's been with her boyfriend for years, and they work very well. She's likely going to return to the courts pretty soon for the North American stretch, where she hopes to find the same form she had the last time she was in the US.
She was lifting trophies back then, and that's the goal this time as well. In any case, congratulations to the happy couple and check out the photo from their wedding below.
