Coco Gauff talked about the new relaxed Wimbledon rules which she praised as one of the more outspoken young tennis players.

Gauff is still fairly young but in terms of tennis, she's quite experienced having been part of the Tour for a while now. As a young player, she's not afraid of talking about difficult topics and answering the more tricky question.

It's something she actually embraces and that's why she talked about this year's Wimbledon rule changes which include allowing the players to pick what colour their underwear is going to be, as opposed to sticking to the all-white rule. It was a particularly stressful rule for women who were worried about 'showing' during their periods.

I really support it a lot. It's going to be a big relief. I was on my period last year during Wimbledon and it was very stressful. I mean, you have the period underwear and stuff to help you but it's still in the back of your mind.

Gauff on the rule change

The all-white rule is something that has been talked about for many years now with some players calling for a total rule change. While that is yet to happen and unlikely to happen this was actually a very good move. Many former and current players shared their thoughts on it with most agreeing that it's the right thing to do.

Gauff experience's last year only backs that as she explained how she dealt with the situation of being on her period while playing at Wimbledon. She would use bathroom breaks in order to go and check whether anything was showing.

Sometimes, and I know when you go to the bathroom, you're supposed to use the bathroom, but I would go to the bathroom just to check and make sure nothing was showing. So I think it's going to relieve a lot of stress for me and other girls in the locker room for sure.
