Amanda Anisimova showed what she thinks about one of the fans that advised her about her body.
Professional athletes have to deal with a lot of things, and one of those is also receiving private messages from their fans, but also people that are not really supporting them. Anisimova, who had a shaky form in 2023 so far, experienced one of those moments recently.
So far this year, the 21-year-old American lost eight of eleven matches that she played and after she finished last year 23rd on the WTA Tour, her career-high year-end position, many fans expected her to keep the momentum going also into the 2023 season.
But Anisimova, who recently revealed her doubts about the transition to pros, couldn't follow up on a good 2022 season and with that, unfortunately, come also a lot of angry fans. The comments are often connected to the American's lifestyle that she likes to share on social media.
As every 21-year-old, Anisimova likes to spend time with her friends and have a drink or some good food every now and then. But every time she shares such a picture on her Instagram account, she receives a lot of hateful comments for her lifestyle.
One of the fans took it even further and sent a private message to the American after she posted a picture on her story. Anisimova has decided to share the message, which read: "The most unathletic body ever! Narrow shoulders and giant boobs." Anisimova replied only a short 'thank you' and added the screenshot to her story with a caption stating:
"I don't know what to think? The amount of people who comment on my body every day on social media ... will never understand what the hyper fixation is about. But enjoy your life, I'll go enjoy mine. Thanks for all the input."
The comments certainly didn't make Anisimova happy and they are just hilarious for many reasons. Commenting on others body in private messages is really inappropriate, especially, when talking about body parts that people have really no control over.
The young American handled the situation very well and she will hope to turn these negative experiences into positives on the tennis court as she readies for yet another event after a first-round exit at the 2023 Madrid Open.
