Why Sinner Doesn't Search Only For 'Best In Their Work' When Growing His Team

Jannik Sinner seemingly took a step forward this year, and he credits both his work ethic as well as the great team he has.

There have been quite a few good moments for Jannik Sinner this year and some bad ones as well. Still, the overall picture seems rather positive, he's taken a step forward, which is good. Proof of that came in Toronto, where he won his maiden ATP 1000 trophy by beating Alex de Minaur in the final.

Consistency still remains an issue for Sinner, but he's started to win matches regularly, which is the first step. Now it's about showing up regularly, especially when he's facing a good player like Novak Djokovic. Besides being a hard worker, part of the credit goes out to his team, with whom he shares a close bond.

"I would describe my team as nice people, happy people. Everyone knows very well what he has to do. I feel good with them and lucky to have them, so I think it is a very good team."

Sinner on his team

There is plenty of work left to do for him and the team because Sinner hasn't punched his ticket for Turin yet, and that's the goal. He's one of the likelier members of the eight that will be there, but the job's not done yet. There is optimism because the dynamic in the team works well, which was the goal for Sinner when assembling his team.

"Everyone is very important for me because for me it's sometimes also good to mix it up a little bit. You don't go to every tournament with the same people, but to have different voices sometimes, it's very good. I think everyone is very important for me, because also with two different tennis coaches sometimes to have new things coming, you learn new things."

"When I ask someone to join my team it's not only if they are the best in their work but also how I feel with them. For me that is very important because we spend not only the time when we work together, but also at dinner and in the morning."
