Rafael Nadal is patiently working on his comeback to tennis as he dropped another practice video on social media.
Rafael Nadal has been out of tennis since January of this year when he injured his hip during the Australian Open. His return was initially scheduled for Roland Garros, as very few expected the Spaniard to miss that event, but in the end, it happened.
Taking a more conservative approach towards his recovery ultimately didn't pay off because Nadal was declared unfit to play at Roland Garros. In the end, he opted to go under the knife as many initially expected, which effectively ended his season.
Some rumblings, later on, suggested that he could stage a comeback with Spain in the Davis Cup, but the country failed to qualify, and it was probably just a rumour anyway. Uncle Toni Nadal was the person who mostly provided some sort of update on Nadal as he pointed towards the Australian Open as the return event.
Well, we're inching closer to the event, which is now only a bit over two months away. Nadal has been spotted practicing more than once since undergoing his surgery, and a recent video shows the Spaniard moving really well while hitting some balls on a hard court.
The video was posted by Nadal himself with some interesting use of emojis indicating confidence which is great news for fans. He was a bit reserved in his most recent media appearance where he talked about his return.
He warned against fans expecting him to come out swinging and winning trophies because he himself doesn't know. He won't know until he starts playing competitive matches again. It could go sensationally or it could go badly. We don't know but we will rather soon as January rolls around in two months.
