It seems that Nick Kyrgios and Stefanos Tsitsipas won't enjoy a barbecue together after the 2022 Wimbledon Championships as things got heated in and after their third-round match.
While Kyrgios seemed to forget what happened on the court with Tsitsipas quickly, the Greek player took it to social media and sent a clear message to his opponent following his loss at Wimbledon.
The Australian seemed to be focused only on his performances and didn't take anything personally during his clash with Tsitsipas. Right after the match, Kyrgios emphasized that he was ready to move on, also saying that he's close to Stefanos' brothers, Petros and Pavlos.
However, Kyrgios then changed his narrative a bit after the Greek showed no mercy during his press conference. Tsitsipas called the Australian player "a bully," which Kyrgios laughed off, saying Tsitsipas was "soft."
But the 2022 Australian Open doubles champion didn't make any more comments after that. On the other hand, Tsitsipas targeted his third-round opponent with his latest posts on social media.
First, he used Kyrgios' newest tattoo quote as a caption on his Instagram post, and now, he posted another tweet that was obviously aimed at the Australian player again.
"My ability and capacity to acknowledge I was wrong is largely determined by the attitude of the person I’m arguing with."
Moreover, the Greek made sure to like various tweets which were talking negatively about Kyrgios. Twitter allows users to see which posts other users liked, and those that were among Tsitsipas' liked posts weren't the most flattering towards his rival. Some of the tweets Tsitsipas liked included:
"If Nick Kyrgios was locked in a room on his own he'd argue with the wall."
"Roger Federer was absolutely right when he said “we need a clown for this circus” when he was playing Nick Kyrgios in Madrid."
