Stefanos Tsitsipas has been criticized for using philosophical quotes on his platform without acknowledging the source.

Tsitsipas, ranked World No. 5 in the ATP rankings and the best Greek tennis player in the Open Era, enjoys expressing himself on Twitter and tends to maintain a very active profile on social media, showing an extensive interest in matters related to culture and personal growth.

His tweets tend to resonate with his intellectual curiosity and skeptical attitude. For instance, recently, he wrote, "School feels like a prison until you leave it, and then realise you were part of a social oasis with hundreds of other people your age. Something you’re never going to experience again."

Then he made another controversial statement: "Your salary is the bribe they give you to forget your aspirations." However, that quickly backfired as many people thought it was impossible to compare his salary to the salary of regular people. Some of the comments said:

"Very apt coming from a 23-year old who has probably never had to work an 8-5 job to feed himself."

"Ok rich tennis player"

"Celebrities shouldn’t be giving advice to everyday people. You’re so disconnected from the reality of what we’re going through on the daily basis. Do you think everyone has the luxury of walking away from a job they don’t like? No. That’s our reality."

Only three days after this tweet, the Greek player decided to take on Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, who are investing in space travel, when he said, "Two of the richest people on earth are trying to leave the planet, not fix the planet."

However, people in the comments quickly discovered that his tweets came from another Twitter account and accused the ATP star of plagiarizing tweets.

"He stole this tweet just as he steals all his tweets. No original thoughts in his head."

"This is waaaay too easy. STOP IT Stefanos, it has become a really embarrassing habit."
