Jannik Sinner produced another solid effort to take down Frances Tiafoe at the 2023 Vienna Open in a pretty solid battle between the two players.

Tiafoe played a really solid match yesterday to take down Gael Monfils in two sets, but the French player was also injured, which kind of helped him. Even so, it was the best tennis he had played in a while, as his recent form has been all over the place.

Sinner himself has been in amazing form lately with plenty of great wins, including some that happened in Vienna. He's an excellent indoor player, so his doing well on this surface is hardly a surprise.

The match against Tiafoe wasn't complicated as he proved his favourite status with a competent 2-0 victory. Sinner served better and played better from the baseline, which is more than enough to really win a match indoors.

He totalled 11 winners compared to only six by Tiafoe en route to the 6-4 finish. The second set was pretty much the same. Tiafoe served a tiny bit better but played much better in the rallies.

He risked more and was more offensive, which resulted in a higher winner output at 11. Sinner, on the other hand, wasn't as sharp as he was in the previous set, but he served really well.

He's been serving really well for a long time which is bad news for all of his opponents. The final score was 6-3 6-4 as Sinner dropped 5 aces, 18 winners, and 7 unforced errors.

It was an outstanding win that sent him into yet another semi-final, where he'll play Andrey Rublev. Now that's a brilliant matchup that fans likely can't wait to see.

Both have been in spectacular form recently and have played really well this year. Find out tomorrow what happens in that one.
