An all-American battle delivered on its premise as Ben Shelton and Sebastian Korda gave us three sets of exciting tennis, with the latter winning in the end.

Ben Shelton and Sebastian Korda sounded like an amazing matchup on paper, and the match truly delivered. The first set alone was an amazing one because it featured a tremendous tiebreak, which lasted for 22 points.

The match was pretty close in its early stages as both players possess similar playstyles that work really well. Shelton has scored some amazing wins this week, including one over Jannik Sinner which sort of surprised many.

Korda was no less impressive with an amazing win over Medvedev earlier this week, and he's continuing his winning streak at the event. This one had a spectacular comeback after he dropped a heartbreaking 1st set tiebreak that could have gone either way.

Both players were amazing but Shelton was a bit more precise, which is expected considering how streaky Korda can be. The second set was just a proper beatdown by Korda as Shelton lost his serve. He didn't serve well at all, which gave Korda plenty of chances to put many balls into play, and in the rallies, it was always going his way.

The final set saw Shelton bounce back to a pretty decent level as the serve was on point, but by then, Korda was already firing on all cylinders, and he wasn't going to let go of the match. He broke at the start of the second set and simply dominated in the rallies to keep the lead for a while.

Shelton would break back, though and make it interesting as Korda had to fight for the tiebreak. He secured it and then outplayed Shelton 8-6 to win, but it was very close. The American nearly pulled off another major comeback. The final score ended up being 6-7(10) 6-2 7-6(6).
