Novak Djokovic kicked off his grass season at an exhibition event in London at the Hurlingham tennis club and he was mesmerised by what he saw.
The small tennis club features only a couple of courts but they were in pristine condition when the players took to the courts. Djokovic is set to play his only preparation matches for Wimbledon at that exhibition event and his first challenge was against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime
It ended up not being much of a challenge as the Serbian won 6-2 6-1. Post match, the Djokovic was keen to praise where he had just played and the club as a whole, admitting to being mesmerised by the whole set-up and facilities on offer:
!It is my first time in Hurlingham. I was actually going around the entire club for 20 minutes before I entered the court. I was very very impressed and in awe of what I have seen. It was one of the most stunning places I have ever played in and ever seen. I am looking forward to coming back in a few days' time. Thanks to Felix for coming out on the court - I wish you the best of luck next week at Wimbledon. Hopefully, it will not be as windy as it was today. It was not a lot of fun serving in these kind of conditions."
The six-time champion of the All England Club will be hoping that this preparatory exhibition will suffice for him to put in his best performance come the start of the tournament. Just around the corner, the majority of Djokovic's potential rivals are busy playing in warm-up ATP events around Europe before descending on SW19 come the start of the Championships.
He will be hoping to make it two titles in as many years this summer, after he overcame Italian Matteo Berrettini in the final last year. The hard-hitting Italian has been out for a short while due to injury, but has certainly put his name in the hat as a potential contender after winning back-to-back grass court tournaments in Stuttgart and Queen's.
