Nick Kyrgios is one of the favourites to win the title at the 2022 US Open but it seems that the 27-years-old Australian is thinking also about his home.

The 2022 Wimbledon finalist, Nick Kyrgios is a guy that really cares about his family, especially when the things are not going really well. Recently, his mum was admitted to the hospital and many times, the Australian expressed his desire to finally go back to Australia. He did that also ahead of the 2022 US Open when he spoke about his first-round matchup against a good friend, Thanasi Kokkinakis.

“It’s hard because even traveling now, my mum is in hospital at the moment, my dad hasn’t been very well, my brother just had a baby and I don’t get to be there with my family when normal people would like to be with them,” Kyrgios said during the North American swing.

"There’s a lot of things people don’t see. They only see me winning, losing, throwing a racquet, doing those things. They don’t really understand the challenges that I face or what people on tour face, what’s going on in their personal lives.”

"Whether I win or lose, it's going to be the same for me. ... It's a win-win for me. If I win, it's more money and another great result. If I lose, I get to go home," said Kyrgios ahead of US Open.
