Serena Williams will end her career after the 2022 US Open and many former players took a chance to sum up the career of the 23-time Grand Slam champion.

Chris Evert won 18 Grand Slam titles in her career and behind Serena Williams and Helen Wills, she's the third most-successful American tennis player in this aspect alongside Martina Navratilova. On the other hand, Serena Williams misses one Grand Slam title to level Margaret Court at 24 and she will try to accomplish that at the 2022 US Open. When summing up her career, Chris Evert spoke to The Guardian, stating:

"There’s a different philosophy. It’s all about the Grand Slams. Is Serena the best tennis player until this point? Absolutely. But it’s complicated when you compare careers and wins and eras. I’m not sure she has the most accomplished career," Evert said.

“It’s such a tough question. In her era she is the greatest of all time. Then there’s the most accomplished career – how many tournaments you won and how consistent you were and I always include Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova alongside Serena because in my era they were the greatest of all time.”
