Roger Federer completely dominated the list of the highest-paid tennis players in 2022 despite not playing this year at all.

Tennis players are among the best-paid athletes in the world. While their salaries, which in their case are prize money won at tournaments, can't match the NFL or NBA players, they are often among the best-earning athletes when it comes to endorsements.

This year, Forbes published their list of the highest-paid tennis players in 2022, which was made based on their estimates and conversations with industry specialists, helping to create reliable estimates.

Leading the list is Roger Federer. The Swiss Maestro didn't win a single dollar on the tennis court in 2022, but he still earned an estimated $90 million thanks to his businesses and sponsorships.

Naomi Osaka is the second player on the list, and in her case, it's also not because of the prize money. On the tennis courts, the Japanese player won around $1.2 million in 2022, but away from the courts, she accumulated a total of $55 million, putting her total to $56.2 million.

Third on the list is another player who made her fortune thanks to the off-court earnings. Serena Williams earned a total of $35.1 million in 2022. All but $100,000 of it came from her off-court activities.

Fourth Rafael Nadal is the first player on the list who had some success on the tennis courts in 2022 as well. The Spaniard earned a reported $31.4 million. $6.4 million out of that came from the prize money he won this year.

Fifth on the list is Novak Djokovic, with $27.1 million in reported earnings. Closely behind him is Emma Raducanu, who earned $21.1 million from her efforts, both on and off the tennis courts.

Daniil Medvedev made $19.3 million and is seventh on the list. Kei Nishikori is eighth with $13.2 million. The last two players in the Top 10 of the highest-paid tennis players in 2022 earned a similar amount, but they are separated by more than two decades when it comes to their age.

Venus Williams, who is 42, made $12 million in 2022. On the other hand, 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz accumulated a total of $10.9 million. More than half of his fortune came from the prize money.
