Nick Kyrgios spoke candidly about his struggles with mental health as part of the "A Conversation with Champions" at the Lotte New York Palace in New York City prior to the 2022 US Open.

The 27-years-old credited Naomi Osaka with supporting him during this time. This season, Nick Kyrgios won his first Grand Slam title in doubles and also played singles final at the Wimbledon and a lot of his success can be credited to the change of mindset and playing with 'clear head'. The Australian opened up more about the impact of 4-time Grand Slam champion on his mental health in New York where the two were present at the same event.

"I actually struggled early with mental health and there were times in my tennis career where I was really struggling," Nick Kyrgios revealed on Thursday night. "I wasn't sure if I was okay to feel that way."

"But then, actually, I met Naomi," Kyrgios further explained. "We did a podcast together, and she kind of opened up. That kind of opened my eyes saying, 'Wow, there's another tennis player as great as the champion she is, that was also going through that. Made me feel more comfortable to open up about it."
