A reporter questioned Novak Djokovic about his explosive attitude towards his box during matches, and he explained the situation at the 2023 US Open.

Novak Djokovic is not a player who gets frustrated easily as he manages to keep focus rather well, but occasionally he'll explode. Much of that happens towards his team in a similar way that Nick Kyrgios can rant to his box about things bothering him.

He's admitted to being intense with his team, resulting from a strong desire to do well. Winning 23 Grand Slams doesn't happen by chance; it takes a very motivated and competitive individual to do that, and it just shines through at times.

Yeah, I mean, look, I care about this profession and I take it very seriously. I know that a lot of the other players do too. You know, we expect the highest kind of dedication and I guess involvement from our team members, as our team members and coaching staff expect from us.

The intensity is there. In the heat of the battle, obviously a lot of different things can be done on the court. But, you know, overall we are a team, we are sticking togetherthrough good times, bad times, and I'm grateful that I have he team that I have

It's not so unusual in tennis circles because many of them care about matches. Taken out of context, you might think they are insane, but trust that Andrey Rublev is a perfectly sane person. Daniil Medvedev doesn't go around hitting cameras like he does sometimes on the court.

It's just that competitive nature, as Djokovic explained you need to have that if you want to become better and progress.

It has to be challenging for everyone, for the player and for the coaching staff, otherwise there is no growth. I think that's the way to push each other to the limits and really understand how you can develop the game, how you can become better on and off the court.
