Team Europe's lineup is shaping up nicely for the 2023 Laver Cup in Vancouver and Holger Rune will be a part of it.

As one of the most promising tennis talents of the new generation, Rune will make his first appearance at the Laver Cup in 2023. The 19-year-old Dane, who began his professional career at just 16, will now join the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev, who were the first two announced players in Bjorn Borg's team, in representing Team Europe.

Set to take place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver from September 22nd to 24th, 2023, the event promises to showcase the exceptional skills of this young star but also his fellow teammates, who are set to face Nick Kyrgios, Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Fritz, and home star Felix Auger-Aliassime, as John McEnroe announced already his first four players.

Team Europe Captain Bjorn Borg has expressed his enthusiasm for Holger's inclusion on the team that won the competition four out of five times and will want to stop Team World's attempt to win back-to-back titles.

"Holger has had a really impressive season and is one of the leading players of the next generation. He’s proved he is more than capable of beating the world’s best and I am looking forward to welcoming him to Team Europe in Vancouver."

For Holger Rune, being a part of Team Europe is an honor and a dream come true as he revealed. According to his own words, he has watched the Laver Cup, an event named after tennis legend Rod Laver, with admiration over the past few years.

"I’m so honored to be part of Team Europe in Vancouver this year. I’ve watched Laver Cup over the past few years and love the event. The competition is so intense and getting to really know the personalities of your rivals so unique. It has been a goal of mine to make the team and I can’t wait to be a part of it."
