Katie Boulter showered Andy Murray with praise in a recent interview with Sky Sports, calling his legacy legendary.
Great Britain has a long tennis history, yet Andy Murray's career sticks out. That speaks volumes about the Brit, who is the best British player in recent memory. Having to battle some of the greatest ever Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer, week in and week out, made it very tough for Murray, and yet he won Grand Slams and was number one on the ATP Tour on top of just winning a lot of events.
Katie Boulter grew up watching Murray and, like many other British kids, dreamed of emulating him when she grew up. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Boulter called Murray a true champion in everything that he does.
He's been someone who I have watched throughout my whole entire career. I think he's a true champion in everything that he does and I've got massive respect for what he does on a daily basis. To see him here at the NTC day in, day out still grafting, still working so hard it is truly inspiring and it's fun to watch.
Murray is still kicking around and plays some really decent tennis at times. Interestingly, his comeback might be the thing he's most remembered for as opposed to his achievements because it's so legendary in itself. Picture somebody playing very good tennis with a metal and it just becomes incredible to imagine.
His legacy is everything. He is the epitome of tennis in his passion, his love for the game, it's like no other. You don't see that often on tour and what he's been able to accomplish.
However, most recently, Murray was forced to withdraw from the 2023 Davis Cup Finals, but he will focus on the 2024 season. According to Boulter, the fact that the Brith achieved his goals motivated many.
Growing up it was a true rollercoaster to watch but to see him come out the other end and to see him achieve his goals, it really makes people and kids like me back then to strive for what they want and to be able to achieve what he achieved.
