'Shocking': Fritz's Girlfriend Opens Up About Booing Incident At Roland Garros

by Alfredo Bassanelli

Taylor Fritz experienced a very interesting situation when he found himself getting booed heavily after his match with Arthur Rinderknech.

The American was playing a very heated clash at the 2023 Roland Garros with the last French player in the draw and the crowd let him have it. There was booing non-stop throughout the match with the crowd heavily behind their player but Fritz held on.

When the match finally finished, the American erupted with a huge celebration and the crowd didn't like it very much. They then booed him even more as he was getting ready to talk to Marion Bartoli, so much so that they stood there for a couple of minutes ultimately abandoning the interview after one question because the crowd wasn't stopping.

The only question that Fritz responded to was a pretty good troll towards the crowd. His girlfriend Morgan Riddle is always at his matches and she witnessed the moment even pulling out the camera to capture it. She was asked on social media after the match about the instance and she described the situation as pretty shocking.

"Idk it was pretty shocking tbh. We knew it was going to be bad but never predicted it was going to be THAT bad. Regardless, I think Taylor handled it exceptionally well and ultimately gave back to the crowd what they had been giving him for 3 hours."

It will be interesting how the crowd receives Fritz the next time he steps onto the court but it's unlikely they will turn to support him all of a sudden. He might have sealed his fate at this year's event but perhaps he wins them over.

He'll play Francisco Cerundolo in the next round, a likeable player who will probably have the backing of the crowd. It's must-see TV either way so make sure not to miss it.
