American tennis has been very good historically, and it's trending to be that way once more in the coming years.

It seems that American tennis has been on the rise for a few years now. While more experienced players like Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, and Tommy Paul stabilized as very good tennis players, some new talents like Sebastian Korda and Ben Shelton emerged in recent years.

It's a great time for US tennis, with plenty of new youngsters coming through the ranks as well, but for the first time in 26 years, there are four American men ranked in the Top 15 of ATP Rankings.

The last time that happened was in 1997 when Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Michael Chang, and Todd Martin were those men ranked in the top 15.

With Ben Shelton's tremendous Japan Open run, which allowed him to break into the Top 15, US tennis now has four players ranked in the Top 15. The highest ranked are Taylor Fritz at number 10, Tommy Paul at 12, and Ben Shelton at 14 not too far behind.

The last player out of the pack is actually Frances Tiafoe, who was in the Top 10 earlier this year but has now fallen back to number 15. Many Americans have already spoken about the rise of US tennis, which keeps all of them motivated.

Every time one of them gets a bit of result, the other takes notice and tries to step up as well, which only drives the sport forward. On the women's side of tennis, there's only Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula who are ranked highly, but there are plenty of Americans who are lower ranked.

Perhaps a few more talents will emerge in the next few years as the country remains one of the leading forces in professional tennis.
