First 300 Qualifying Visitors To Be Invited To 'Roger Federer Day' In Halle

Roger Federer was recently in London but the Swiss player will be in Halle next week for a special day at the event.

Federer has created a lot of great moments in Halle, almost never missing the event. The Swiss Ace won the event 10 times in the past and it's been a regular staple in his preparation for Wimbledon which a lot of Londoners didn't like.

Halle and Queen's are generally held in the same week on the ATP Tour and Federer always opted for the former. He played only once in Queen's and that was in 1999 when he was fairly young.

Never again and that's why he is being honoured in Halle, the tournament that was so important in his career. Being a 10-time champion at the event certainly warrants a special day. It will be held on Wednesday, June 21st, and with the legend attending personally; the first time in Halle since his retirement.

The event is planning a special giveaway for all of those that will attend the qualifying days (Saturday and Sunday) with the 300 first visitors getting a chance to see Federer during his day. It's a way for the event to give back to the fans according to Ralf Weber, the tournament director.

"Without the fans, the Terra Wortmann Open would not be the nationally and internationally successful tournament we know today. That's why we want to enable people in these times when there are many financial worries and needs to participate in this special event."

The event itself is going to be a very big one. They managed to assemble one of the strongest entry lists in recent memory which is impressive considering they are going against Queen's which is a very popular event conveniently located in London.

Fairly decent prize money certainly helped in luring the likes of Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Kyrgios, Rublev Sinner, and many more. It begins on June 19th and will run through June 25th. It belongs to the ATP 500 category of events.
