Carlos Alcaraz is truly living his dream and he recognizes the positive sides of that even though there are negative sides as well.

For much of his childhood, Carlos Alcaraz dreamed of being the number one player in the world who wins Grand Slams. Well, he's doing just that as the 20-year-old recently added another Grand Slam trophy to his tally (2nd) confirming himself as the number one player in the world.

It's truly something special, a blessing as he would call it. It's not perfect because there are some things Alcaraz wishes he could do but for the most part, it's a dream life for him. As he told El Pais in a recent interview, many people wish to live their dream and he gets to do that.

It has its good and not so good things. In some respects, I miss being able to do certain things. I miss doing some of the things that normal 20-year-olds do, but that’s short-lived. Everyone wants to live their dream and I am fortunate to be able to live it and achieve it.
- On being a tennis player

Tennis goes on non-stop and while players can create small pockets of off-time here and there for the most part it's a year-long grind. It's actually more than that because you're working hard year-long for many years so in many ways it's a decade-long grind.

Alcaraz likes that, it's what he wanted to do when he was a kid and he enjoys it very much. Being among professional athletes from many sports, talking with them, learning from them, and sharing experiences, that's what makes it so special for him.

To be surrounded by great legends of Spanish sport and sport in general, from all fields. To be able to chat with them. It was something I couldn’t imagine, somehow. When they tell you they admire you, you don’t believe it, so it has its good things and its not so good things.
