The 2023 Paris Masters will run from October 30th to November 5th, 2023, and the draw for the last ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year has been released.
The last Masters tournament of the season has been long awaited, and that's because of multiple reasons. One of them is that for the first time since the US Open, fans will get to see all of the Top 10 players in action.
Another reason is quite obvious, two of the best players in the world, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, will meet in one draw once again, and many fans are hoping to see them battle it out in the final.
The two are fighting for the world no. 1 spot, and the 2023 Paris Masters may help significantly to decide that fight. The more experienced Serbian is the first seed in the French capital, and like all top eight seeds, he has the bye in the first round, starting his tournament against the winner of the match between Miomir Kecmanvoic and Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the second round.
On the other side of the draw, the second-seeded Alcaraz, who, unlike at the US Open where the two last met in one draw, is now not the top seed, will await either Cameron Norrie or Alexandre Muller in the second round of the event.
Another 20-year-old player will be one to watch in Paris, and his name is Holger Rune. Last year, the young Dane defeated Novak Djokovic in the final to win the biggest title of his career, and this year, he will start his title defense against the winner of the match between Stan Wawrinka and Matteo Arnaldi.
The third seed in the French capital will be Daniil Medvedev, who, like many other players from the Top 15, currently competes at the 2023 Vienna Open, where he made the semifinals. Making a short turnaround, the Russian will start against either Lorenzo Musetti or Grigor Dimitrov.
Another player who plays in Vienna is Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek is the seventh seed in Paris, taking on the better of the duo Felix Auger-Aliassime and Jan Lennard Struff.
There are many more names to keep an eye on, and one of them is certainly Jannik Sinner. The young Italian is the fourth seed, and his tournament will start against either a qualifier or Mackenzie McDonald.
Ben Shelton is one of the most interesting names in the draw as well. The young American is making a name for himself, and in Paris, he will start against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the first round as the 15th seed.
The eighth-seeded Casper Ruud is fighting for a spot at the 2023 ATP Finals, and if he wants to secure it, he needs a good showing, and Gael Monfils or Francisco Cerundolo will try to make it difficult for him in the second round.
Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz have a similar task, as they want to play in Turin, and to get closer to one of the eight spots, the German will need to overcome a qualifier, while the American will play against Sebastian Baez.
