'We're Together': Tsitsipas Confirms Reunion With Girlfriend Badosa

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have reignited their love affair just weeks after their mysterious split.

In early May, WTA star Badosa caused quite the shock when she shared a social media post detailing that "Tsitsidosa," as they are affectionately known, was no more after she and her boyfriend Tsitsipas "amicably parted ways."

Tsitsipas and Badosa had become the hottest power couple on tour when they made their relationship public last May. They became fond of each other to the extent that their careers seemed to intertwine.

Two-time Grand Slam finalist Tsitsipas previously shared his ultimate goal of becoming World No. 1 at the same time as Badosa. But their relationship was not plain sailing because they had to filter outside noise.

At the start of their affair, Badosa was dealing with a chronic back injury and was forced to shut her season prematurely after Wimbledon last season. She was harshly blamed for causing Tsitsipas' downfall in the second half of last season.

While tennis fans heard the Spaniard's side of the story following their surprise split earlier this month, Tsitsipas has now responded on Greek outlet SDNA, where he confirmed that they reunited.

"We're together. I will explain why some people make up different stories about us. Not that I care, but I think people shouldn't take it that way. Paula (Badosa) didn’t do anything wrong, nor did I do anything wrong. It was hard for us being apart and I was going through some hard times too.

The three-time Monte Carlo champion also clarified that their separation was similar to taking a break from each other because of the pressure he felt while competing on tour.

"I would say that I didn't manage it very well either, because I was feeling the pressure of the tour, of my work. It seemed like a mountain to combine these two (personal and professional life) and I made the decision to take a break."

Speculation about their reunion intensified when they were spotted together in the streets of Monaco. Tsitsipas spoke glowingly of his girlfriend as someone who supported him and that it was unlike any other relationship he had had in the past.

"After two-three weeks I realized that she is a person who has supported me a lot and when she tried to talk to me about meeting I felt how intense the love we have for each other is. I realized that this relationship I have with Paula is completely different from any other relationship I have had in the past, I feel that she is my person and we understand each other."
