Chris Evert is a fan of Emma Raducanu and she wants her to do well in the future predicting her a Top 10 stay for a long time.
Raducanu showed all of her talents when she won the US Open and millions became enchanted with the youngster. Things have died down quite a bit since then mostly due to injuries and some bad performances but Evert is still certain about great things in the future as she revealed in a talk with Eurosport.
She's got a good physique. She's athletic, she's balanced, but she has had injuries, which you worry about. She's injury prone a little bit, but I think deep down, she will find that mental toughness that she had at the US Open.
While really impressive, Evert pointed out something important when it comes to her US Open win and that's the lack of any major player en route to the trophy.
People didn't realise she really didn't beat any top, top players there. But I think the mental part and the physical part go hand in hand. I think the mental part is just as important, if not more important, than the physical part.
The US Open run demonstrated she has got what it takes mentally to be great and Evert sees some determination in her eyes. She thinks it will work out in her favour down the line.
I think I see a little more determination in her eyes, and I know she's not a flash in the part. I think she is here to stay and here to compete with Coco and the top players. She's definitely going to be a top 10 player.
