Anastasia Potapova has dismissed the comments of Iga Swiatek on the Russian's move to wear a Spartak Moscow jersey on a tennis court.

Swiatek was famously left in disbelief after seeing Potapova with the Spartak Moscow jersey calling on the WTA to intervene. They did and ultimately warned the Russian against doing the same thing again however she's not too bothered.

Every person has the right to choose: so to go to the match in a Spartak T-shirt was my personal choice.

Potapova went on to explain that she really doesn't care what Swiatek thinks about her whether it's good or bad. She further said that she wishes Swiatek good luck if she wants to blame her on anything.

She condemned me, but I don't care about her complaints, neither hot nor cold. If she wants to blame me for something, then I wish her good luck. I don't pay any attention to it.

The comment is rather spicy from Potapova but then again she is that type of player. She exudes that type of energy during matches as well however she'll have to pay attention to what she does otherwise she can face actions taken against her.

Swiatek revealed after her initial comments that she talked to the WTA and they confirmed that they have warned all Russian players against doing things like that in the future. The Polish superstar has been open in her support for Ukraine since the start of the conflict. Her support was mostly in charitable efforts and less so politically.

I talked to the WTA, and in a sense I was told that there will probably be fewer situations like this because they will explain to the players that you can't advertise any Russian team right now. It calmed me down a bit.
