Holger Rune grew up surrounded by tech and the Danish player wouldn't mind seeing more of it on the ATP Tour as he declared support for electronic line calling at Wimbledon.

Rune is no stranger to arguing calls with umpires as he basically grew up on clay and there is plenty of that going on the surface. Even if the mark is visible most of the time, big mistakes do happen which is why more and more players are in favour of enlisting the help of tech.

Plenty of events already use electronic line calling and for the most part, it's worked well. It's going to come to all ATP events by 2025 as the Tour aims to make the matches flow smoothly reducing any unnecessary arguing.

Wimbledon is not using electronic line calling as the line umpires are a big part of the tradition. It's unclear whether the event would ever get rid of them but Rune certainly wouldn't mind it.

Yeah, I think it's great, to be honest. You know, every mistake that could happen, makes that to zero, I think. You know, they have it in almost every hard court tournament nowadays, and I think for the players it's also very nice. It's very simple. You don't question anything. You just play and if it's out, you can see it in slow motion or whatever.
I know that the line umpire and everything here is a big tradition. Yeah, I think that, you know, if they change, I wouldn't mind.

He's not the only one with that position as Novak Djokovic endorsed it earlier this year as well. Djokovic has generally argued for the sport to evolve so that wasn't a huge surprise. On the other hand, Roger Federer was notoriously against the hawk eye system and used it only reluctantly.

Andy Murray recently endorsed line umpires though admitted that electronic line calling would have been useful in his defeat against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
