A couple of years ago at the US Open, Roger Federer made a 'pinky promise,' and the Swiss Ace made it a reality this year.
Almost every day, professional athletes get requests from young fans to play with them. However, sometimes the fans are too young to fully enjoy the experience, and that's why young Zizou, asked Federer five years ago to keep playing for a few more years.
"Can you please continue to play for eight-nine years, so that I can play you when I go pro?"
The kid is a huge fan of the Swiss player, and it was not surprising when, without hesitation, Federer answered: "Yes." Federer was very amused by the question and made a 'pinky promise' to keep playing so they could meet on the court.
Five years later, Barilla made the dream come true. Zizou was in Zurich, and he enjoyed the best day of his life. Upon arrival at a restaurant, Zizou was treated as a celebrity, and he was very surprised by the way he was welcomed.
Eventually, the youngster realized something was happening, and when the 20-time major winner arrived on the court, he knew that it had something to do with his question asked five years ago.
Federer and his sponsor, Barilla, organized the experience for him. They even hired a crowd that had cardboards with Zizou's name and started shouting his name, as he stood up and went onto the tennis court where the fans stood.
Zizou had no clue what was happening until the man himself stepped onto the court, and it was no one else than Roger Federer. The Swiss player then told him that he came to fulfill his promise, and the two proceeded to hit a few balls as the crowd supported them while Zizou showcased his qualities, even hitting a between-the-legs shot.
