Whilst setting out new goals for his 2022 breakout season, Spain's wonder talent Carlos Alcaraz made it clear exactly how high he is aiming - Wimbledon.

Having already set some milestones this year, young gun 'Carlitos' is keen to strike while the iron is hot and carry on making inroads to the world of men's tennis.

Despite having not had much exposure to all the ins and outs of the full ATP calendar due to his sudden bursting onto the scene, the Spaniard has still clocked up an impressive 32-4 year-to-date record.

These happen to be numbers that Alcaraz only wants to improve in the coming weeks. At a promotional event for 'El Pozo', he spoke about his career ambitions, with the young superstar making no bones about how high he knows he can go, including at Wimbledon.

“Of course I see it possible. In the end, it’s the dream I’m looking for. It’s what I work for every day. Everyone remembers the 2008 final between (Rafa) Nadal and (Roger) Federer, considered one of the best matches in history and it was spectacular. Rafa has won historic matches several times… at Wimbledon, and I say to myself: ‘I wish I could be there playing this type of match.”

He has certainly proved himself at regular, best-of-three ATP tournaments, but best-of-five can often be where the newcomers stumble when it comes to making the leap up to the greats, but he has all the hallmarks of being well up for the challenge.
