Former legendary player Mats Wilander truly believes that Andy Murray has what it takes to win Wimbledon once more.
Andy Murray dreams of winning Wimbledon. Even though he won't come out and say it publicly it's pretty clear that the Brit feels like he has enough for one more. He started well on the grass this year but stumbled the first time he faced a very good player.
In fairness, he was pretty tired of trying to get himself to be a seed at the event which he failed to do ultimately. It's going to make his draw tougher but even then many assume that Sir Andy could get it done. It would be an incredible story. Ivanisevic's win at Wimbledon inspired a film, imagine what this would do.
When asked about the possibility, Eurosport's Tim Henman said that he doesn't see it. Fellow pundit John McEnroe wouldn't rule it out and even Mats Wilander could see it happening. He's not sure that it will but anything can really happen.
I think Andy Murray thinks that this is the tournament where he still feels that he can do very well. Murray? Can he win it? Well, I don’t know. He’s won it already a couple of times, so yes!
Wilander also dropped another interesting tidbit. The Swede thinks that Murray will be a mainstay on the ATP Tour for a few more years. Murray himself didn't really speculate much on his retirement but did say that health is the key factor. If he gets seriously injured once more, he's done.
I think we will see Andy Murray figure out a schedule where he can still keep playing Wimbledon for another four or five years, which is so welcome because we want to see these stories.
It’s great for the sport, it’s great for Andy Murray because he’s also turning a leaf around where his attitude early in his career was one way and now his attitude on Wimbledon Centre Court is he wants to bring every person that’s watching him into the match emotionally.
