'I Know I Look Like Sh*t': Zverev Reveals Why He Can't Cut His Hair

by Kadir Macar

Alexander Zverev had long hair at times in his career but this time around it's been getting quite long and nobody knew why.

At least nobody knew why until he explained it recently, admitting that it actually came from a bet. Yes, Alexander Zverev lost a bet which forces him to keep his hair long as he can't cut it for an entire year. The last time he cut his hair was back in November of last year meaning that he's got a few more months to go.

In the same TennisTV segment, Zverev added that he understands that it doesn't look that good but he's going to keep it for now as he lost the bet and he's a man of his word. He didn't seem particularly thrilled with the question but had a good chuckle while explaining.

Zverev: Really? You just heard me say that on the other station.

Reporter: No, because that was my question.

Zverev: No. That wasn't your question. That's a lie. That's a total lie.

Zverev bemoans the quetion

Because I lost a bet so I can't cut my hair for a year now. I know I look like sh*t but thank you for reminding me.

Zverev explaining why he's not cutting his hair

It was a funny segment and Zverev seemed in high spirits which makes sense. He recently finally won a trophy again on the ATP Tour and it happening in his home town of Hamburg made it only better.

The German is facing some serious allegations off the court though so his fans are glad to see him unbothered by any of that. We'll see if his Hamburg form translates to success in Toronto because the conditions should suit him well, especially if he brings his A-game, something that he's been able to do in his hometown.
