Noah Rubin is a former Wimbledon junior champion who has now abandoned the sport of tennis and will be playing pickleball instead.

The American had a bright future, but his junior success was never turned into a solid career in tennis. He only competed in 29 matches at the top ATP tennis level, finishing with an 8-21 record. The highest ranking of his career was 125th, four years ago, and since then, things have mainly been difficult.

He announced his retirement from tennis a few weeks ago, stating that he doesn't know what he'll be doing after, but that tennis was becoming too stressful for him to continue. He now declared that he will switch to pickleball. The announcement was made in the form of a video in which he made fun of his 5-foot-9 height and said that pickleball is a sport where size is irrelevant.

"The tennis court is just way too big and there's way too much ground to cover" explained Rubin in the video "I recently came across the pickleball court, and it clicked, this is where I belong, this is home now. And in this sport, size doesn't matter."

Asked to comment on his decision by ESPN Rubin said: "I'm not a tennis traditionalist, but there's a love for the sport and when you see something like pickleball coming in and so quickly taking over, the knee-jerk reaction is like, 'Get the f--- out of here"
