Djokovic Still Only Player To Cross $10 Million Earned In Prize Money In 2023 After Alcaraz's Loss

Crossing $10 million in one season isn't something that many do, and for now, it was still only achieved by Novak Djokovic in 2023.

Prize money has been steadily increasing over the years, making this milestone somewhat more achievable, but it still takes a very good undertaking to achieve it in one season.

You have to win some pretty big events to come close, and as of now, it's still only Novak Djokovic. The Serbian didn't play too many events this year but won three Grand Slams, which obviously have the highest prize money.

He currently sits at 10.5 million, which is the most out of all players, but another player is very close to that $10 million mark and likely will also crack it in the coming months.

It's Carlos Alcaraz who won Wimbledon by besting no other than Novak Djokovic in the final of that event. He currently sits at $9.5 million in 2023 and is likely to cross the 10 million mark as well.

He admitted recently that he would play the Swiss Indoors in Basel as well as the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals, which should be enough to get it done.

It doesn't seem likely that Daniil Medvedev, who is 3rd right now, could cross the $10 million mark as well, as he's currently sitting with $7.7 million earned in prize money in 2023.

He could technically go on a tear and win all the events until the end of the year, but that's not very likely, especially with Alcaraz and Djokovic also in the field for the majority of those events.

Same as the fight for the world no. 1 spot, it will be interesting to follow who will end up as the top earner on the ATP Tour in 2023, as three players could technically do that right now.

The Spaniard will play one extra event compared to the Serb, which could shorten the gap considerably if he wins. If he outplays Djokovic at the Finals and Paris Masters, then he might even overtake him.

We'll see in a few weeks but it's been an all-out battle between Djokovic and Alcaraz the entire year.
