Hubert Hurkacz will play yet another hard-court semifinal, this time at the 2023 Shanghai Masters after beating Fabian Marozsan.

Marozsan is a very interesting player, who still isn't ranked as high as he probably could be on the ATP Tour, but he's also a player that showed his undeniable qualities multiple times.

This year, the Hungarian player stunned Carlos Alcaraz in Rome, and on his journey to the Shanghai Masters quarterfinals, Marzosan also outplayed Casper Ruud.

But in the quarterfinals, another high-ranked player stood in his way, this time, the sixteenth-seeded Hubert Hurkacz, who really likes fast hard courts, like the one in Shanghai.

Yet, the match started much better for the Hungarian. He broke first in the opening set, which was marked by man breaks of serve and unused break points. Despite the Polish player breaking back, Marozsan added one more to win the first set 6-4.

In the second set, fans saw a one-man show from Hurkacz. He barely lost points on his serve, and after breaking opponent's serve twice, the Polish player had no issues winning the second set 6-1 and taking the match into a decider.

The third set was really close, with both players having their chances. Marozsan had a break point when he led 3-2, but since then, the Hungarian player completely lost the control of the match.

Hurkacz won 15 of the following 16 rallies to close out the match and win 4-6, 6-1, 6-3, awaiting the winner of the match between Ben Shelton and Sebastian Korda in the semifinals.

On the other hand, Marozsan will surely want to look into the ATP Rankings to lighten up his mood after the loss. The Hungarian player is set to rise by 26 places, pushing him into his new career-high, which should be the 65th position in the rankings.
