Former ATP player Jimmy Connors isn't worried that Novak Djokovic would be discouraged by injury problems.

The Serbian player, like everyone else on Earth, is becoming older every day. Although it might seem that he can, judging by how he has been playing, even Djokovic can't stop the aging.

Maybe that's also one of the reasons why he lost early in Monte Carlo. Not only that but the Serbian player was then eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Srpska Open.

But neither of those results was as worrying as when Djokovic withdrew from the 2023 Madrid Open. That showed that he's been struggling with health issues.

With his age getting closer to 40 every day, it might be easy to become discouraged because of injuries, but former player Jimmy Connors believes that won't be something that Djokovic would struggle with. He spoke about the Serbian during a recent episode of his "Advantage Connors" podcast.

"I keep using the word discourage because if you ever get discouraged and down on yourselves, then that's kind of tough sometimes to break out of. Not getting discouraged is a big thing. And he's [Novak Djokovic] been around long enough and he’s won everything."
"Let's face it, he's got 22 Grand Slams, so he knows what it's like to be in all those situations. He just got to be prepared everywhere else to face that. So I don't think I'm too worried about that."

Although Djokovic wasn't as successful as he probably hoped in Banja Luka, Connors sees only the positives. The Serbian got to play some matches, which is important for him.

"He went in there and he got a couple of matches. That's also a confidence thing too. He hasn't played enough and he wants the matches, not only for the reps and being under pressure and all that but, you know, winning breeds success."
