Coco Gauff and Simona Halep met already 4th time but the young American never won a set against the experienced Romanian as she's currently trailing 0-4 in H2H.

Simona Halep has been around for a while already and in her lengthy career she managed to climb to the first spot of the WTA Rankings, collect 2 Grand Slam titles and also she faced a lot of youngsters. But not many kept raising their level as Coco Gauff does and that's where the Romanian sees the difference.

Coco Gauff is still only 18-years-old but she's competing on the WTA Tour already for 4 years and this year, she reached her first Grand Slam final. Despite getting very close, her first Grand Slam title disappeared in front of her eyes, but her quarterfinal opponent from Toronto, Simona Halep backs her for a future success, when she said:

“I feel she is improving so much mentally and also as a person. She’s super matured since we played together when she was 15 in Wimbledon,” Halep told reporters. “She’s a great person. She’s super nice. And I feel like she’s going to be a Grand Slam champion soon. She has everything to do that. I also feel that she really wants it. So she’s improving a lot. I feel like every day she’s improving, which is great to see.”
