Gauff Heaps Praise On Swiatek Ahead Of Semifinal Showdown At China Open

Coco Gauff greatly admires Iga Swiatek, partly because she's just great and partly because she managed to outplay her multiple times.
Guaff and Swiatek have an interesting rivalry going on because of the 8 previous matches they played. Both players respect each other and are likely to play many more times in the future, which is great for tennis. Initially, Swiatek bested Gauff easily in most of their matches, but the last one they played went to Gauff.
It happened at the WTA 1000 level in Cincinnati, an event Gauff won. Their upcoming one will happen on the same level but in Beijing at the 2023 China Open, and it promises to be an interesting match. Ahead of that clash, Gauff praised Swiatek heavily.
Everybody who plays her, no matter the game style, you have to be prepared to run and just be ready for everything. She’s in the position she is for a reason, she’s one of the best players in the world for a reason, and I’m just going to go out there and hopefully do a similar result to Cincinnati. Yes, it's going to be a really interesting showdown, with the winner going to the final for a chance to win a rather big trophy. Gauff doesn't have many of them, so she'll certainly be motivated to do as well as she can. Swiatek is known as a motivated player, so there won't be any passion missing from her side.
