2025 US Open Men's Singles Draw With Sinner, Alcaraz, Djokovic, Draper

The draw has been released for the men's singles competition at the 2025 US Open, and there is a lot to look forward to once again.

The Grand Slam season is coming to an end, and as always, it will end in New York. Jannik Sinner won the title last year, and he will be on a mission to defend it this year as a top seed, but the mission got tougher even before the tournament began.

Sinner retired from the Cincinnati Open final after just 20 minutes, as he struggled with a virus, according to his coach Darren Cahill. After that, he didn't touch a tennis court until Thursday, delaying his preparations for the US Open.

Sinner, like the rest of the field, already knows the draw for this year's tournament. The top seed will start against Vit Kopriva. In the second round of the tournament, his opponent could be either fellow Canadian Open champion Alexei Popyrin or talented Emil Ruusuvuori.

On the opposite side of the draw is Sinner's main rival for the title. Carlos Alcaraz is the man who played against the Italian in the last four big finals (of the tournaments in which they both played), and they will attempt to extend that streak to five events now.

But Alcaraz is facing a brutal draw. The Spaniard will play against Reilly Opelka in the first round. Opelka is a tricky opponent as he can disrupt the rhythm of his opponents thanks to his game, which relies on big serving.

But that isn't the only challenging part of Alcaraz's draw, far from it. The five-time major winner can play against Daniil Medvedev already in the fourth round of the tournament, and his quarter-final opponent could be Ben Shelton, who won the Canadian Open this year. The American will start against one of the qualifiers.

On top of that, the 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic is also in Alcaraz's half. The seventh-seeded Serbian could meet the young Spaniard in the semi-finals, and his own tournament will begin against Learner Tien. That will be a challenging first-round test for Djokovic.

Taylor Fritz is also in Alcaraz's half. The fourth seed will play against Emilio Nava in the first round of the tournament. But there are plenty of exciting players in the top half of the draw as well.

Alexander Zverev is the third seed. His first opponent at the event will be Alejandro Tabilo, and Zverev could be tested by Felix Auger-Aliassime already in the third round of the tournament. Jack Draper will return to the singles competition as well, and he will start against one of the qualifiers.
