Roger Federer ended his professional tennis career only a few days ago and he already appeared in a video released by ATP, in which he spoke about his career.

The Swiss Maestro lifted 20 Grand Slam trophies during his career but also gained probably the largest fan base in the history of the sport. Without a doubt, Federer is one of the most liked athletes in the world.

Now, his career has come to an end, and millions of fans around the world have had to say goodbye to their favorite player. Shortly after his retirement, Federer got a chance to address his fans.

Recently, Federer looked back on his career in a feature for the ATP. In the feature, he didn't forget to mention his fans. He admitted that it felt great to travel the world and always see someone who was excited to see him.

"This is definitely a big moment for me to thank everybody who has always supported me. I feel the Federer fans became more and more the older I got."
"If I had all these emotions on the court, it's because of the fans. They know that, I know that, and those are the things I'm going to miss. Traveling around the world, have somebody wait for me, and be so excited to see me, that's why I wrote in the letter that I love tennis and I will see you around."

Federer also delighted his fans. He said that he plans to see them again. While it might not be in a competitive setting, he will likely appear on the tennis court again.

"For me, it was important to remind the fans that I will not leave the game and I will be there. People will get a chance to see me again. We'll have moments again, they might be different, but they will be beautiful moments. It was important to remind myself that and also the fans, who I am so very thankful to."
