Novak Djokovic's coach, Goran Ivanisevic, revealed that the Serbian quickly forgot about the Wimbledon defeat.
Novak Djokovic is a very intense tennis player, and you wouldn't think that he enjoys his time on the court unless he smiles. He's just very focused on the task at hand and wants to do his best at all times, which puts him in a state of stress.
Even though his US Open match against Daniil Medvedev was largely going his way he had a few outbursts towards his box, but it's nothing new. He's talked about that before, and his coach Ivanisevic joked about his crankiness after the match.
He's always cranky on the court. Doesn't matter Wimbledon. (Smiling.) We came to Cincinnati. It was not even mentioned one time that Wimbledon. It's past. When you lose it's past. You know you can't get it back. That day Carlos was better player, and he won. Very simple.
Djokovic didn't seem bothered by the Wimbledon loss and looked quite focused since touching down in the US. He bested Alcaraz to win the Cincinnati Masters and now added the US Open trophy as well. It's been a few good weeks for the Team in the US, maybe even better than they thought.
So we came to Cincinnati. Prepare for this tournament. He won Cincinnati. He's the guy who just forgetting the things and moving on. That's why he's so good. That's why these couple, four-and-a-half weeks in the States, and he was happy that he could play here. It was really, really enjoyable and fun.
The goal now is to sustain that and hopefully finish the year on a high note. Djokovic has the Davis Cup Finals as a goal, as well as the ATP Finals and finishing the year as the number one player in the world.
