The 2024 Libema Open is a joint tennis tournament operating in the same week on the ATP and WTA calendar, from June 10th to 16th.
It is classified as a 250-level tournament and is played on grass courts. Players who compete at this event usually want to familiarize themselves with the surface before Wimbledon.
The entry list for the men's tournament will include some interesting names, such as Daniil Medvedev, Alex de Minaur, Ugo Humbert, Tommy Paul, and Karen Khachanov. They are among the top five seeds. Defending champion Tallon Griekspoor will be in contention.
The women's tournament also has a formidable lineup. World No. 5 Jessica Pegula is expected to take to the court for the first time in two months, and the Russian trio of Liudmila Samsonova, Ekaterina Alexandrova, and Veronika Kudermetova will also play.
Some new stars who have enjoyed a breakout year, such as Emma Navarro and Diana Shnaider, will feature. At the same time, Canada's Bianca Andreescu will kick off her grass-court preparations at the event.
Although the Libema Open is a combined men's and women's tournament, there is a significant disparity in prize money. This men's financial package stands at an impressive €690,135.
This is an increase of about 6.5% from last year's total for the ATP tournament. The women's total prize money for the 2024 edition is $267,082, a 3% increase from 2023.
The men's tournament champion will earn €104,985 and receive 250 points, while the women's champion will receive the same points but significantly less in prize money, $35,250.
For the two vanquished finalists, men will get 165 points and €61,235, while WTA players will be rewarded with 163 points and $20,830.
Prize money distribution begins in the first round for both tournaments. The ATP will offer €7,400 for an early exit but zero points, while the women will be awarded 1 point and $2,890 in prize money. The complete breakdown for both tournaments can be accessed from the table below.
