The 2023 Geneva Open promises to be an interesting ATP 250 event, which will run from May 21st to 27th and the entry list is already known.

For the third consecutive year, one man will attempt to win a title at the Tennis Club de Genève at the Parc des Eaux-Vives in Geneva, Switzerland. That man is no other than Casper Ruud, who lifted the trophy last year, but also in 2021, and he's defending back-to-back titles in 2023.

This year isn't the best one for the Norwegian and so his opponents will try to capitalize on that and steal the title from him. One of those players will be Taylor Fritz, who is another Top 10 player who joined the tournament. The American recently found his love for clay but still knows it's difficult to compare to European players.

But there will be many players from North America too in Geneva. Fritz will be joined by the likes of Denis Shapovalov, John Isner, J.J. Wolf, and Ben Shelton, who only recently played his first clay-court match on the ATP Tour.

Yet, the list of potential challengers can be very long in Geneva. Botic van de Zandschulp has recently experienced a painful loss in the final of another ATP 250 tournament, and he will try to forget that with a good run in Geneva. And his compatriot, Tallon Griekspoor will also want to achieve a good result.

Some experience players will join the tournament too as Adrian Mannarino, but also Dusan Lajovic, who won an ATP 250 event in Banja Luka recently, will play at this tournament.
