After losing at the 2022 Madrid Open and struggling with her back during the match, Emma Raducanu travelled to Rome where she will compete at the 2022 Italian Open.

Emma Raducanu didn't start her 2022 season really well, however, she managed to get some good results as the clay-court part of the season started. After winning two matches in Stuttgart and Madrid, her focus will be on the 2022 Italian Open where the young Brit will be the tenth seeded.

Despite being one of the top seeds at the tournament, 2021 US Open champion will face a really difficult journey to the trophy at the 2022 Italian Open. In the first round, she will meet another US Open champion, Bianca Andreescu. The Canadian is coming back from an injury and already showed that she didn't forget how to play tennis.

Another US Open champion, Naomi Osaka could be a potential second-round opponent for Raducanu. However, also Sara Sorribes Tormo, who had a great week in Madrid, and defeated Osaka along the way, could make it to the second round.

In the third round, Raducanu would most probably meet the fifth-seeded Anett Kontaveit who already lifted a trophy in 2022. If she makes it to the quarterfinals, she would almost certainly meet world number 1, Iga Swiatek, who's on a 4-tournament winning streak.

If she makes it past Swiatek, she will probably face only easier opponents, but still the players of the highest quality. Her possible semifinal opponents include Aryna Sabalenka and Simona Halep. In the final, Raducanu could meet any player from the bottom part of the draw. Garbine Muguruza, Maria Sakkari, Karolina Pliskova and Paula Badosa are all players that have experience with winning big trophies and could be Raducanu's final opponent in Rome.

Emma Raducanu's path to the trophy at the 2022 Italian Open:

Round 1 Bianca Andreescu
Round 2 Sara Sorribes Tormo / Naomi Osaka
Round 3 Anett Kontaveit
Quarterfinals Iga Swiatek
Semifinals Aryna Sabalenka /Simona Halep
