2024 Transylvania Open Cluj WTA Prize Money & Points Overview

Held in the second week of February as opposed to its customary spot in the autumn, this year's Transylvania Open will run from February 5th to 11th.

Cluj-Napoca is considered the unofficial capital of the Transylvania region in Romania, and tennis players who make this captivating trip will experience a vibrant cultural scene and see some historical monuments.

Additionally, they'll get a chance to compete for 250 ranking points and earn a share of the prize money, which is $267,082. It may be a low-key WTA event on indoor hard courts coming just a week after the Australian Open, but high-quality matches will surely be on show.

The 32-player singles field contains names like Karolina Pliskova, a former World No. 1 and winner of 16 career titles. However, the big-serving Czech lasted hardware success in 2020.

Pliskova will be joined by German veteran Tatjana Maria, rising Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, and former champion Anna Blinkova as the top first seeds. Romania will be represented by World No. 66 Ana Bogdan, who played some thrilling matches last year.

There is a spot in the main draw for the returning Anastasia Sevastova of Latvia, who enters with a Special Ranking, as is Caty McNally of the USA, who uses the same itinerary for her first appearance in a while.

In terms of prize money, this year's purse comes with an additional increment of 3%. And this increase will be mirrored at all levels. The champion will earn the most amount, a paycheck to the tune of $35,250.

The runner-up is the second biggest earner during the week, taking home $20,830. Semifinalists will pocket $11,610, while quarterfinalists will receive $6,608. The prize money breakdown in the main draw begins from the first round.

Even those who fail to win a match will be compensated with a paycheck of $2,890. For points, the champion will receive the maximum points of 250, while the beaten finalist gets 163. Like prize money, points allocation will also begin from the opening round.
