The exciting draw for the 2025 Qatar Open in Doha has been released. Both Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic were given very difficult first-round opponents.

The 2025 Qatar Open in Doha was supposed to be an event that would see Alcaraz, Djokovic, and Jannik Sinner all compete in one draw for the first time since the Australian Open.

However, that won't happen because Sinner accepted a three-month suspension, which means he can't compete at the ATP 500 event in Doha, which runs from February 17th until 22nd.

But even in the absence of the ATP World No. 1 player, the draw in Doha will be incredibly strong. Carlos Alcaraz will be the top seed, but the status of a top-seeded player didn't guarantee him an easy first-round match.

His opponent in the first round will be the 2014 US Open champion, Marin Cilic. If Alcaraz passes this first-round test, his second-round opponent could be Zhizhen Zhang, who will play against a qualifier in the first round.

But the third-seeded Novak Djokovic wasn't given an easy draw either. The 24-time Grand Slam champion will play against Matteo Berrettini in the rematch of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships final.

Should the Serbian player succeed, his second-round opponent would be the winner of the match between Jan Lennard Struff and Tallon Griekspoor. Djokovic and Alcaraz are also in the same half of the draw, which means they could meat already in the semi-finals.

Alcaraz's potential quarter-final opponent could be Grigor Dimitrov, who will play against Jiri Lehecka in the first round. Djokovic, on the other hand, could meet Jack Draper. The British player will take on Alexei Popyrin in the first round.

On the opposite side of the draw, the second-seed Alex de Minaur was given a much more favorable draw. The Australian player will meet Roman Safiullin in the first round, and if he passes this test, his second-round opponent will be either wild card Abdullah Shelbayh or a qualifier.

But already in the quarter-finals, De Minaur's path to the title could get much more complicated. He could play either the winner of the match between Andrey Rublev and Alexander Bublik or the winner of the match between Nuno Borges and Ugo Humbert, who will play in the Marseille Open final before traveling to Doha.

In that final, Humbert will play against young talent Hamad Medjedovic. Thanks to his performance in Marseille, Medjedovic was eligible for a special exempt spot, which secured him a main draw spot in Doha.

The draw was ruthless to him, however, as he will play against the eighth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round of the tournament. This part of the draw is probably the most challenging as the winner of this match could play against Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round.

On top of that, there is also a first-round blockbuster between Daniil Medvedev and Karen Khachanov. The winner of this match could be a potential quarter-final opponent for Tsitsipas, Medjedovic, or Auger-Aliassime.
