The 2025
Halle Open is one of two
ATP 500 tournaments running from June 16th to 22nd, and the
prize money and ranking points have been unveiled.
Each year, the Halle organizers face a tough task of attracting the best talent due to the popularity of the Queen's Club Championships during the same week, which is routinely voted the players' favorite ATP 500 tournament.
Considering the competition, the German event's organizers do a very good job of securing high-quality entry lists. This year is no different, with several top male players committed to competing in Halle.
World No. 1
Jannik Sinner is the
most notable name in the draw. He will make his first appearance since losing the Roland Garros final to Jannik Sinner despite having
three championship points in the fourth set.
Alexander Zverev,
Daniil Medvedev, and
Stefanos Tsitsipas are among the other players in the Halle Open draw. They will try to prevent Sinner from defending the title he won at last year's iteration.
Usually, the prize money offered by different ATP 500 tournaments in a given week varies, but the Queen's Club Championships and Halle Open differ by giving the same financial rewards per round.
The 2025 Halle Open champion will earn €471,755 and 500 ranking points. Eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer won a remarkable ten titles in Halle during his legendary career, repeatedly wowing the German fans.
Hubert Hurkacz was last year's runner-up to Sinner. If the Pole replicates that achievement, he will collect €253,790 and 330 ranking points. Zverev has twice lost in the final of his home tournament.
The two men who fall in the semifinals are guaranteed to earn €135,255 and 200 ranking points. Zverev and Zhang Zhizhen, who is not in this year's draw, were the defeated 2024 semifinalists in Halle.
€69,100 and 100 ranking points are the rewards for the beaten quarterfinalists. Two main-draw victories will be needed to make it possible, since no byes are awarded to any players at the ATP 500 tournaments.
Some decent money and points can also be earned by winning just one match at the Halle Open. The 16 men who manage to get through the opening round without going further will walk away with €36,885 and 25 points.
As always, no ranking points will be given to the players who lose in the first round, but €19,670 is still guaranteed for them. That amount of money can be crucial to lower-ranked players who came through qualifying.
There are many top-ranked players in the 2025 Halle Open draw, but the event also gave a wild card to the teenage prodigy João Fonseca, who is one of the most exciting talents in tennis with an enthralling playing style.
The 18-year-old has already attained some excellent results this season, including
winning his maiden title at the 2025 Argentina Open in Buenos Aires and receiving extraordinary crowd support from the Brazilian fans.
Although grass may not be Fonseca's most natural surface, he will very likely entertain the fans in Halle with his athleticism and shot-making.
